Zakupiony przez Pomorskie Centrum Reumatologiczne im. dr Jadwigi Titz-Kosko w Sopocie aparat RTG stanowi epokową zmianę w diagnostyce pacjentów. Funkcjonujący dotychczas 16-letni sprzęt wymagał wywoływania zdjęć z użyciem odczynników chemicznych i klisz obrazowych. Nowe urządzenie wykorzystuje najnowocześniejszą technologię radiografii cyfrowej bezpośredniej, dzięki której uzyskiwane obrazy mają postać cyfrową, a ich ocena, dzięki systemom teleradiologii, może być dokonywana w dowolnym miejscu i czasie.
Aparat wyposażony jest w dwa detektory promieniowania RTG, których technologia wykonania (oparta o jodek cezu) zapewnia zminimalizowanie dawki każdego badania. Wyposażony jest również w najnowocześniejsze oprogramowanie umożliwiające analizę uzyskanego obrazu w bardzo szerokim spektrum oceny. Duży zakres ruchu kolumny lampy RTG, stół o udźwigu prawie 300 kg oraz duży zakres wspomaganego motorowo ruchu pionowego lampy RTG powodują, że możliwości diagnostyczne systemu są bardzo szerokie.
Aparat zlokalizowany jest w budynku Przychodni Szpitala przy ul. Grunwaldzkiej 1-3.
Inwestycja o wartości 1.1 mln zł sfinansowana została ze środków Regionalnego Programu Operacyjnego Województwa Pomorskiego 2014-2020.
